Starting to Feel Better

This weekend following into today have been rather difficult here. We finally got our taxes done, hip, hip, hooray! After that came the problems. First Samuel got the flu (fever, coughing, nasal, etc..) He cried nonstop all night, even while he was sleeping, and had to be held. I got no sleep at all on Saturday night, and around midnight, since he was burning up with fever, I ran downstairs to get some Tylenol (he was asleep) He must have woken up as soon as I went downstairs because all of a sudden I heard this loud BUMP and crying. He fell off our bed. So here is miserable and I can't tell now if it is because of the flu or that he got hurt, and I felt so guilty and terrible about it! Then Sunday morning it was my turn. I had a fever all day and night, coughing, migraine, etc, and taking care of a sick baby on little to no sleep. Sunday night was almost as bad as Saturday night. Samuel cried again nonstop and had to be held thru the night (I tried letting him cry, but it didn't work!) I was really concerned, more about his fall than the flu so I took him to the Dr. Our Dr. said that Samuel had an ear infection and the beginnings of Pneumonia!!!! I was shocked! So now my baby is on medication, I've got a vaporizer running in his room, and last night even though he was up a lot, I was able to lay him back down in his bed and he slept- what a breakthrough compared to the last couple of days! I am feeling better, just coughing a little now and trying to catch some ZZZ's :)
Now that our taxes are done, I have a quilt block to make for my sister (no, I didn't forget Rebecca, I just had to prioritize) I have never done quilting (other than a tiny block quilt for my cradle) so it is going to be about as plain jane and basic as it gets, but hopefully Rebecca will like it anyhow. Do any of you do quilting, and if so, do you have any advice for me, for a simple way to jazz up a 12 by 12 inch quilt block?
Have a wonderful day!!! :}

Wow, what a weekend! Poor little Samuel, and I'm so sorry to hear you got it too! I hope you're both on the mend now, and praying for your health.

I was totally shocked to hear that Samuel had pneumonia! I am so glad I took him to the Dr. now, and for 2 days now he has slept through the night (I also put a vaporizer in his room, and it has helped him tremendously!)

Betsy, I am feeling better, just have a nose that won't quit, and a slight cough now. That's completely managable compared to the weekend! Samuel is still quite sick, but he is sleeping much better, so I'm sure his body is on the mend too!

Rebecca, I also had a wonderful time at lunch. I enjoyed visiting with you and enjoyed the yummy food! I always cherish our get-togethers!!! Thanks so much for having me over! :)

Glad to hear you're all on the mend! It's so hard to have a sick baby, and now that he's feeling better, I'm sure you're much relieved. Millie had pneumonia when she was about 6 months old, and although she recovered well, I didn't get much sleep listening to her labored breathing!
